Please refer to the schedule below for all of the recommended Well Visits (Physicals), from Newborn to 30 Months and beyond.
NEWBORN:
Patient is evaluated in our office within a day or two of leaving the hospital.
(NOTE: Many times we bring a newborn in again before the 2-Week Physical to evaluate weight, etc.)
2-WEEK WELL VISIT/PHYSICAL:
Patient is evaluated in our office at two weeks of age.
2-MONTH WELL VISIT/PHYSICAL:
Patient is evaluated in our office at two months of age. At this office visit your child will receive the first of many immunizations administered.
4-MONTH WELL VISIT/PHYSICAL:
The next physical is done at 4 months of age. There has to be at least eight weeks between the 2 month and 4-month visits. Therefore, it is important to schedule before leaving the office.
6-MONTH WELL VISIT/PHYSICAL:
This physical is done at six months of age. There as to be at least eight weeks between the 4-month and 6-month visits. At six months of age, the patient is able to get a flu shot, there is also a flu booster given one month after the initial flu vaccination at any age. For your convenience we schedule flu clinics on weekends, typically in October and November during flu season.
9-MONTH WELL VISIT/PHYSICAL:
Typically, the patient does not receive immunizations at this office visit. At this visit we evaluate many age-appropriate milestones.
12-MONTH WELL VISIT/PHYSICAL:
Per school immunization regulations in New York State, this appointment can not be scheduled until the patient has turned one year of age.
15-MONTH WELL VISIT/PHYSICAL:
Immunizations are also scheduled at this office visit.
18-MONTH WELL VISIT/PHYSICAL:
Immunizations are also scheduled at this office visit.
24-MONTH WELL VISIT/PHYSICAL:
2-year physical, immunizations are not typically given at this evaluation.
30-MONTH WELL VISIT/PHYSICAL:
Once again child is evaluated for age-appropriate milestones.
3-YEAR WELL VISIT/PHYSICAL AND YEARLY THEREAFTER:
An annual physical is performed. Daycare and preschool/schools require annual physical be performed for admittance/registration. If you child is playing a school sport an annual physical is also required.
